SILVERY GOWN

The night I decided to go wild

I knew there was no way back

I needed to feed that child

to dive deep in the black

The night I opened the door

I knew I’d be drowning in pain

And I would break through its core

get the needle out of my vein

The night I climbed the sky

I knew my lungs would collapse

my arms would learn to fly

I would find my way without maps

Then when high in the clouds

I would be part of the storm

a thunder would tear the shroud

my body would transform

la, la, la, la..

The night I left the earth

with all the daisies in bloom

new mothers were giving birth

out of one sacred womb

the night I touched the moon

there were no stars around

I started to croon

dancing in a silvery gown
